We are so happy you will be joining us in Aspen for the first year of Up in the Sky Festival! Going VIP is an amazing way to enjoy the festival, and we are going to do everything we can to make sure you have the time of your life. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about the VIP program plus other important details about general festival policies. Please be sure to read through it and to send it to everyone in your group so they are also in-the-know. We can’t wait to see you soon!
Up in the Sky Entry Requirements
- Bring your VIP festival wristband.
- Review our Bag Policy – and our Allowed and Prohibited Items List to make sure you are in compliance.
How to Dress & What to Bring
Dress for comfort and be sure to check the weather forecast before you head out the door. The festival grounds are located on a mountain and feature a mix of paved surfaces, gravel, grass, and hilly terrain, so choose your footwear accordingly. We recommend a hat and sunglasses, but if you forget anything, the Festival Store has lots of great merchandise offerings!
VIP Wristbands
Will Call
- If your wristbands were not mailed to you and are at Will Call, you can pick them up at the Festival Box Office. A government-issued ID is required to verify your order and pick up tickets. Box Office Locations & Hours
Wristband Activation
- Wristband activation ensures a smooth process when entering the festival each day and allows you to add emergency contact information to your wristband. All you need to do is enter your wristband ID number (located on the inside of your wristband) and contact info to activate.
Cashless
- Up in the Sky is fully cashless. Credit card, debit card, and mobile payment methods are accepted site wide.

Up in the Sky will take place August 8-9th at the base of Buttermilk mountain in Aspen, Colorado. The festival address is: 38700 HWY 82 Aspen, Colorado. Click below for more information on ways to get to the festival!
Getting to the Festival
VIP Entrance
Bypass the crowds at the main gates and enter Up in the Sky through the dedicated VIP entrance lane, located just to the right of the main gates on the pedestrian plaza at the base of Buttermilk.

VIP Viewing Area
VIP guests will have access to enjoy top-tier views of all performances in the dedicated front-of-stage VIP Viewing Area. Facing the stage, your VIP Viewing Area is located on the left-hand side.
Official Up in the Sky After Party
Your festival experience doesn’t end here. Keep the vibes going long after the final set of the evening with access to the exclusive Up in the Sky After Party, hosted right inside the VIP Village/lounge.
VIP Dining
Fuel your night with complimentary curated food stations available during two designated windows each evening. Plus, enjoy elevated bites available for purchase throughout the event, featuring signature offerings from Buttermilk Mountain Lodge.
You’ll also have access to dedicated VIP bars offering complimentary select beverages. Craving something beyond what's included? A full menu of premium cocktails, beer, and wine will be available for purchase.
VIP Map
As a VIP guest, you’ll have free range of the VIP Lounge and VIP Village which will be stocked with amenities to help you relax and recharge between sets, including shade and seating for you to enjoy both indoors and outdoors. Once the festival concludes, keep the party going and stop by the VIP Village to enjoy your exclusive Up in the Sky After Party.
